Speaking of Faith by Krista Tippetts. It is a very readable, deep and personal reflection on faith and our times. Recommended by Mary Nelson
Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario was an excellent book on immigration as was What is the What by Dave Eggers. First choice would be Enrique's Journey. It is very readable even for middle school and up, well researched, and looks at the situation from many perspectives in a nonpreachy way. Recommended by John Booy.
