This week-long Immersion will offer classes in all eight Key Components of CCD (Relocation, Reconciliation, Redistribution, Indigenous Leadership Development, Listening to the Community, Church Based Community Development, Wholistic Approach, Empowerment). In addition to classroom instruction, the week will include daily Bible studies led by Dr. Perkins and other CCDA leaders, site visits to local Chicago CCD ministries, and networking times with Immersion participants. This unique opportunity is limited to the first 88 people who register in order to foster student interaction and contextualization. Participants who complete the program will have the opportunity to gain certification in CCD.

Lodging

• Option A: Chicago Hostel - Let CCDA arrange your lodging at Hostelling International Chicago (24 East Congress Parkway, Chicago, IL – just 6 blocks from Immersion site) Cost is $250 and includes: lodging for 6 nights in shared rooms (six to eight people per room with a shared bathroom), continental breakfast, lines, towels, Wi-Fi, in-room lockers (bring your own lock). This is a great option that allows for maximum interaction with Immersion attendees!

Scholarships

• A limited number of partial scholarships are available to Practitioners coming from CCDA Practitioner member organizations. A Practitioner is defined as those living and working in under-resourced communities with the purpose and passion to experience “wholistically restored communities with Christians fully engaged in the process of transformation.” Scholarships will be awarded based upon demonstration of commitment to the philosophy of CCD and stated financial need.
